About Us

Peter Daigle specializes in the personal lines side of the agency, which ranges from homeowners and auto insurance to umbrella liability and fine art collections coverage. An agency owner since 1983, Peter enjoys assisting clients in making informed, responsible choices and fitting the insurance program to the individual characteristics of the account. The proper coverage at the best price is his formula for value. Most of Peter's original clients are still with him because they value the individualized service and commitment to their needs.

Walt Travers began his career as a commercial underwriter with Aetna Life and Casualty Company, and was an executive officer with two other local agencies before joining Peter in 2004. His dual background in both company and agency operations gives him an in-depth understanding of the underwriting process, a broad knowledge of commercial products and markets, and a balanced perspective with regard to risk assessment.

Eli Zimmer, specializes in both personal and commercial lines, found his niche in insurance when he joined Daigle & Travers in 2006. He recently received widespread recognition as one of Fairfield County Business Journal's "Top 40 Under 40" for business professionals under 40 years of age, and was named Five-Star Home / Auto Insurance Person of the Year by Connecticut Magazine. Eli graduated from Skidmore College with a degree in business administration and a minor concentration in environmental science.

Charlene Pennella, personal and commercial line producer, has been in the insurance industry since 1981 and joined Daigle & Travers in 2007. She continues to develop her knowledge through extensive Continuing Education. Charlene is the co-founder and vice president of the Darien chapter of BNI - Business Networking International.

Bonnie Piazza, AAI (Accredited Advisor of Insurance), is commercial insurance department manager. During her 27 years experience Bonnie has worked with every aspect of clients' business insurance needs. Prior to joining Daigle & Travers she was vice-president at Webster Insurance serving business clients throughout Connecticut, account executive for commercial accounts at Damman Insurance. She is a past member of the Connecticut Select Business Council.

Janice Sweet, personal lines department manager, holds the CISR - Certified Insurance Services Representative - designation from the Professional Insurance Agents association. Janice has developed far-reaching expertise during her 23 year career in the insurance industry. Before joining our agency in 2002 Janice was customer service representative at The Norwalk Agency.

Mary Dowd, account executive for personal lines, came to our firm with an extensive insurance industry resume'. She was a top producer for Marsh McLennan Private Client Service group in New York City and for Hub International in Fairfield. Mary also established the Personal Property and Casualty Insurance Division for William Raveis Real Estate.

Larry Giannitti, commercial lines customer service representative, is admired by clients for his experienced counsel and his expert execution of policies. Larry gained his knowledge and reputation through working as a licensed agent and account representative since 1977 and joined Daigle & Travers in 2004

Michelle Paul, commercial lines customer service representative, is licensed for both property & casualty and life & health insurance and has 12 years insurance industry experience focusing on all aspects of select, mid-size and large commercial accounts. Previously Michelle was with Mathog & Moniello and Webster Insurance / USI Connecticut.

Lisa Smith assists clients by submitting claims and handling billing questions and has over six years experience in the field. Additionally, she serves the office staff with administrative assistance.
